Pregnancy really brought out the crafter in me! I will admit I was slightly obsessed. I sewed, stitched, embroidered, paper crafted, wood burned; pretty much everything short of weaving my own tapestries! But the great thing is it ended in a beautiful nursery for our little girl, a place I am really in love with—which is good since I now spend all waking hours there.
Also I am a bit of a planning nerd and created this initial mock up of what I wanted for the nursery. It is kind of fun to see what stayed and what changed.
I ended on the theme “Whimsical Woodland” if I had to call it anything. Coral and gold were my staple colors and I collected woodland animal details. Here are some of the resources that I used to make the real thing happen
Polk-a-dot wall decals • Bunny Stuffed Animal Pattern • Crib • Wall Art: Shakespeare Quote, Woodland Animals, Owls • Featured Fabrics: Bunnies, Geometric Pillow • Ikea Wall Shelf for books • Glider • Ottoman • Rug (not pictured)
The wood burned tree plaque, hand embroidered animal mobile, curtains, and corner poufs were all items inspired by Pinterest! Many small finds were also from Goodwill, garage sales, and flea markets. The dresser/changing table was an amazing craigslist find!
